Since changing our name to Grace Communion International, we get the question frequently, “Will we be changing our web address, and if so, when?” The short answer is “yes, but it’s a process.” While we have announced the new website URL to be www.graceci.org, we are looking at other possibilies. If we are able to find a better address, we will keep you posted. In the meantime, we will continue to operate at wcg.org and simply redirect graceci.org there. At the same time, we are working on a signficant redesign of our website. That will take several months, but the goal is to release it before the end of the year. We hope you will be well pleased with the results!
What about my local church web site that is currently xxx.wcgweb.org? Will that change? Yes. To what? That depends on whether what we ultimately settle on for our primary web address, but when we switch, it will follow the same pattern that we currently provide. Of course, you are always welcome to register your own domain name for around $10 per year. We can still provide the web hosting using your own domain name.
Will the current wcg.org or wcgweb.org go away when we change? The wcg.org and wcgweb.org domains will be kept for a while after we change, probably multiple years to allow plenty of time to transition to the new names. Web sites will continue to load, probably with a redirect to the new name, and email addresses will continue to work until some time in the future. We will give you plenty of notice when those decisions are made.
